Emirates launches daily Airbus A350 flights between Dubai and Muscat
Passengers benefit from faster Wi-Fi and new entertainment system
DUBAI: Muscat International Airport is now home to one of Emirates’ most advanced aircraft, as the airline begins regular operations of the Airbus A350 on its Dubai-Muscat route.
The daily service was initially scheduled to launch on 1 July, but was brought forward by a week.
Flight EK 866 departs Dubai at 2:15am and arrives in Muscat at 3:30am. The return journey, EK 867, leaves Muscat at 4:40am and lands in Dubai at 5:55am – ideal for connecting passengers travelling onward to Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.
Upgraded experience
The three-class Airbus A350 offers 312 seats: 32 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, 21 Premium Economy seats in a 2-3-2 setup, and 259 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.
Passengers across all cabins enjoy higher ceilings, wider aisles, and ergonomic seat designs, making the short-haul journey more comfortable.
Emirates has also introduced its newest in-flight entertainment system on the A350, offering a cinematic viewing experience, enhanced cabin lighting, and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Enhanced connectivity
Muscat is among the first regional cities to receive Emirates’ A350, joining others like Kuwait, Dammam, and Amman, alongside long-haul destinations including Edinburgh, Tunis, and Mumbai. The airline has so far inducted seven A350s into its fleet, with plans to expand service to 17 cities by year-end.
To meet growing summer demand, Emirates has added two extra weekly flights between Dubai and Muscat on Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight EK 862 departs Dubai at 7:55am, returning as EK 863 from Muscat at 11:25am.
